Abhishek Tripathi, an engineering graduate, got the job of panchayat secretary in the Phulera village.

He took the job only intending to work for a year, as his main aim is to clear CAT and pursue MBA from IIM. All his friends have tremendous salary packages, some in lakhs or crores, which makes him more passionate about clearing the job and becoming a millionaire like his friends as he was stuck with a 20k job. 

But in season 1 he was unable to clear the exam and again started preparing again for the exam in the second season and he is frustrated with the fact that he has to stay in the village for another year where he has to deal with village politics. At the end of season 1, he met Rinki and their bond grew in season 2.

The village also taught him about real-life issues and problems faced by villagers.
